Some of the Amazon reviews are from idiots. The guy who couldn't get the piezo ignitor to work probably bent the prong, which is easy to do and easy to fix.

The guy who melted his stove clearly has a propane adapter still visible in the photos. These are not meant to burn pure propane. That was 100% user error.

There are way more reviews on the Monoprice page, and they are generally good. I've left several reviews of MP products and I've never known them to censor bad reviews.
I have been using this for the past 2 years. Great unit, no complaints. It boils water quickly and store's all components including small fuel canister within the vessel.
I have use a few times now. Works great.

They still make white gas!? 😂

I make it regularly, much to my wife's dismay.

The 7 year old in me couldn't resist. And I'm old enough to remember this from camping back in the day.

Hey guys. Newbie here. Can I buy this and store it for emergency use or are there other better products for emergency kind of situations? TIA

Yeah, white gas fuel stoves are better for emergency use as you can refill the tank and run them on a multitude of fuels.

Unlike the canisters which are not refillable.

"Still make?"

Nah bud, I picked up a used white gas Coleman stove, a white gas Coleman lantern, and a useable antique fuel oil parlor heater to compliment my new multi fuel generator.

Be prepared they say.

Anyone know if the burner assembly is compatible with the jetboil? I bought a returned MiniMo from REI but it's missing the burner assembly.

I've had this for a few years and feel the quality and performance is 90% as good as a comparative Jetboil but at a fraction of the price. My only complaint is not having the pot adapter.

I have one of these and so does a friend of mine. For the price you can't beat it, and in my experience it was great as a trial before deciding if I wanted a jetboil. If you know you already want one, I would say just get a jetboil and be done with it, but if you want to try it out first then this is great. The thing is you CANNOT put these away with any moisture left in them. Both my friend and I left some drops of water in ours, and it left corrosion marks on the inside. Just something about the anodizing didn't tolerate prolonged moisture. Also the threads for the fuel canister are made of very soft metal and would be easy to strip if you aren't careful.

I have used this several times the past two weeks. Takes between 7 to 10 minutes to boil when full (depending on the altitude I've use it at). I beleive Jetboil is less than two minutes.

I don't recommend.

Friend and I did a few less than scientific tests that showed using the Jetboil fuel made the other stoves behave the same, and vice versa.

Seems like if there's some magic in the setup it's in the fuel mix.
