I ended up getting the arc for the main TV and the beam for the bedroom. I just hope that I'm allowed back into the house to enjoy them once my wife finds out.
Arc + sub + 2 One sl for rear
Seems like a good deal but everything I was interested in was already out of stock...

Anyone use the Sonos Port? Considering it for the basement to connect to my Denon receiver which is my only room without Sonos.

Do yourself a favor and get two 1s as rear surrounds. Will blow you away, it's a massive upgrade.

I appreciate your comment and that's actually my plan. I have 2 ones in each room and a sub in the living room. I'm excited to set this up.

Every time these great deals show up I'm disappointed at the $300-$500 fee just to unlock the "privilege" of buying usable speakers. The Port should cost less than most speakers to make. Most people agree they price it high to make it harder for people to "leave" Sonos. But it makes it just as hard to "join" for people like me with existing gear (analog 7.1 & Nest, personally). People with existing gear are clearly willing to spend money on AV gear. Seems like a big loss for Sonos.

Is there any less expensive way to get line-in?

I wish Sonos would make an inexpensive "Port-In" and an expensive "Port-Out".

What's a decent basic home theater setup with sonos?

Had been running a beam + 2 Ones and it sounded just fine. Moved the beam to the bedroom and got the arc. Arc is great but I wasn't blown away as I was expecting. Might get some hate but I think the beam + 2 Ones was a better bang for the buck. Bass was enough for my use as I have babies and wouldn't be able to crank it up if I added the sub.

Thanks everyone above responded to my question on a basic HT setup. It's for my small living room (200sqft). The arc+sub+2 one would be $1400 (tax). Cheaper possibilities- comparing beam +sub+2 one = just over $1k vs. Arc + 2 one = just over $900. Even cheaper alternatives - just arc = $600 vs. Beam plus 2 ones = $500. How far does the $500 get me?

Agreed. Beam Gen 1 + 2 SL's is probably your best value. Wait for the Sub Mini [theverge.com] to come out, or see if you can snag a Sub Gen 3 in future sales down the road.

Hopefully the sub mini will be as good as the current sub gen 3. I was bummed to see the sub was already sold out.

Or if it is a small room (bedroom or the like) the beam will do

Beam plus 2 ones sounds divine.
