The eyeglasses at the doctors office can be 10 times more expensive but they have a money back guarantee. Once you order these glasses, you own them! I put extra pairs in the car, a vacation home or the garage just in case I break a pair. Repair of plastic frames are nearly impossible

Orders paid for with Store Credit can only be returned for a 50% refund of the Store Credit amount used to pay for the order. The refund will be issued to the credit card used on the preceding order for which store credit was issued. For orders where both Store Credit and a credit card are used to pay for the order, the Store Credit portion will only be eligible for a 50% refund while the portion paid for by credit card will be eligible for either 50% refund or issuance of a 100% Store Credit.
If you feel there is a manufacturing error, return the glasses for inspection within the 30-day warranty period. If our inspection shows the glasses were made incorrectly, we will remake them for you at no additional charge.

PD is easily measured even using a ruler, and there are apps if you are worried about ruler accuracy.
I don't want to pay $100 for a money back guarantee, and as long as you are getting more glasses, you have 30 days to return them to Zenni for any reason.

If you need progressives & haven't tried Zenni's progressives:
I've bought progressive from them with fairly strong nearsightedness correction (-5.5 to -6.25) for 6 years or so. Their progressives work well for a lot of people. People's eyes differ though - some people say they don't like them as well as lenses they've bought at a B&M optical. Given the cost difference, though, I'd recommend trying Zenni even if you need progressives. If you look for a deal with 30% off lenses (I've switched to the blue blokz recently which work just as well for me) and get a cheaper frame, you're not out all that much money if they don't work for you (you could always ask Zenni for a refund - I don't know if they'd give it to you, or just offer another pair of glasses).
I've bought the .67 to .71 index (can't remember the exact numbers) progressive lenses which cost a little more. This is usually a little higher than what their system 'recommends'. The thickness and thus, weight of the lenses is a little lower, which makes a difference to me, even with metal frames with fairly small lenses (what I always buy - cannot stand the look of the huge lenses and plastic frames people are buying these days - they're like a throwback to the 1980s).

With frames this cheap, it's affordable to buy a replacement frame if they do break - which is extremely rare in my experience (if the frame breaks: if you have progressive lenses and they're fine, you don't have to buy new progressive lenses - just move the old lenses from the old frames to the new replacement frame).
If you have kids who are hard on frames, opt for frames that are under $30 or so (which is most of the Zenni options). Zenni also is an affordable option for kids' prescription sunglasses - good for kids who play sports like softball/baseball.
Until 2 years ago, my vision insurance used to allow $150 toward glasses annually (no limit on how many pairs). For about 4 years, I used up the remaining allowed value (after spending around $100 on a pair with progressive lenses) to buy various frames with regular (free) lenses (from $6.99 to 24.99 or so with regular lenses). That allowed me to see how the frame fit my face (and try different frame colors) - and if I liked a frame, I'd order it the next year with progressive lenses. That also gave me a backup frame if needed - I've only had one pair of Zenni's break - a 6.99 pair, which I could have easily replaced for $11-12 (with shipping) - but I had a backup frame already.
I usually stick with the same frame for a few years, so if I stick with the same frame when ordering new progressive lenses, the old frame serves as a backup frame.
If you're not buying the really trendy frames, Zenni tends to keep the same frames available. I buy metal frames and haven't had any problems with them discontinuing frames.
Since I have progressive lenses, I always wait for a 30% off lenses promotion - if you have regular lenses, look for a promotion that gives you a percent off total cost - although in that case, the glasses will usually be so cheap, look for a free shipping and handling promotion (which don't come around that often).
Do you need progressive lenses? If not, the frames with regular lenses are dirt cheap. Most are under $30, so you're not out much if the frames break - which in my experience, isn't likely). I wore the 6.99 metal frames for a few years (no issues with them breaking) - then they stopped allowing that frame for progressive lenses so I had to switch to a different frame. (That's the only reason I switched frames - I switched to a frame (think 19.99) which includes a magnetic clip-on sunglasses included in the cost of the frame - so the clip-on is covered by my vision insurance.)
The $10 Paypal discount worked for me plus if you have a Discover card linked to your Paypal and use it to pay for your order you will receive 5% cashback.
