Yeah, that's some of them - its meaning has changed throughout history. Slavery, like you said, and it was once a term for women of "easy virtue," and the more commonly thought of meaning is that it refers to a woman's hips, as they are wider than a man's, suggesting that her one and only purpose is to bear children.


None of the word's meanings are in a good context. laugh out loud

Maybe acknowledging the good mothering possibility isn't the same as 'the only thing she's good for.' I respect it mucho. Add intellect and I'm happy to be around her!

I guess I just don't get it. Dontknow To me, it's like black people throwing the N word around, or girls calling their friends "bitch," etc. in casual conversation. Both of which seem... inappropriate and tactless to me.
