Paying 2159 with Amazon (10% back) plus 189 for 4 year asurion insurance comes out about less than compared to going with Costco 2599 which already comes with 3 year insurance and "$100" streaming bundle.

Does this sound about right? Is it worth it getting this tv and insurance through Amazon vs Costco?
Update: I ended up buying this tv with the 4 year insurance plan via Amazon. The deal worked for me… in the cart with your Amazon card prime card it'll say this qualifies for another additional 5%

Costco currently has it for $2399 with their 2year manufacturer + 3 year extended warranty (5yr total).

Everyone is different, but to me that extra $50 at Costco is more than worth it for the simple fact Costco has amazing customer service and you can easily exchange it for another should you get a bad panel (rare, but it does happen)

Is the insurance essential for this tv?

I think this is the deal I've been waiting for.. so I took the plunge. So 10% cash back via the Prime card and then I have $1300 Amazon store credit I've built up specifically for another TV from the regular 5% cash back on everything I buy from there..

Put me at about $1600 w/ 4 year protection plan (which I usually never buy) after tax, I guess not counting whatever 10% I get back.

Currently have a 65" C8 for some years that's been amazing except more recently the issue is the magic remote has been finicky. I've had two previous LG OLEDs and they've all been great. Just moved into a house and figured I'd need another TV. Been waiting for this 77" to come up on sale on Amazon specifically.

Edit: Trying to think back but I'm pretty sure each one I've bought has been about $2000. First 55" EG9100 (1080p) in 2015, 55" EF9500 (4K) in 2016, the 65" C8 in 2018, and now the 77" C1. I sold the prior TV to help pay for the next one, until now.

TONS of hours on all these TVs, many days of 14+ straight hours of being on and playing a game for example. Never had burn in issues. You really need to be abusive/careless to somehow do it. The C8 has 4988 hours on it.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Looks like the insurance plan via Amazon does not cover burn in.

That is very true too… I still have time to cancel my Amazon order and go with Costco.

I have a chase sapphire preferred card… is there any special benefit or extra points using this card with Costco?

Not sure about that card, but Amazon Chase does still allow 1% cash back so technically it would only be $26 more than Amazon and not $50 like I initially said.

This is either targeted or a mistake that was fixed. I see nothing about saving 10% on this TV when I click the link

Mine says I save additional $10 with prime savings. Not 10%

Do you have the Amazon Prime credit card? I believe this is required to see the 10% offering.

I think buydig deal looks better to me... 2% cash back with credit card + 2% cash back on rebate site would be $2111. still $2k for a tv that was last year's model seems like a lot of money.

Try refreshing a couple times; the offer doesn't always show up for me. But if it shows up, and you proceed to checkout, you'll be able to verify it before placing the order under 'payment method' (see attached screenshot).
