Are there any data points on if the USB4 implementation / drivers on this laptop support TB3 or TB4 external GPU enclosures?
It should be as Windows 11 forces all vendors to implement USB4 PCIe mode which can support thunderbolt accessories without official thunderbolt certifications.

Because 120 Hz 4k monitor are so common these day?
You're wasting your time again. If you remember, this guy is posting gibberish in all the laptop deals for last 3 years in search for his next laptops. For example, he did not understand it has 2 Type-C port supporting 4K@120Hz and the USB4 TYPE-C supports even 5K.

The form factor of this SSD makes it very difficult to almost impossible to upgrade.
Also keep in mind that the memory is non upgradable. Main reason why I had to ditch my less than a year old 3rd gen same laptop. If you think you can live with these two shortcomings regarding upgradability, then this is a decent laptop.
Sa few other things that I thought this laptop can improve:
1) screen is just ok. Could be a bit brighter.
2) the bios is bare bones
3) the laptop fans turn on to high speed and then slow down to nothing and this cycle repeats over and over. Not sure if they fixed this in the latest gen but this is pretty irritating/ distracting.
Why 2242 size SSDs are almost impossible to upgrade? What's the logic behind that? 2242 SSDs are normally a bit slower than their 2280 counterparts but they're readily available in market and you can upgrade them just like you upgrade any SSD.

Most of the points are made up points on that posts to find something -ve for this deal. The SSD thing you have already caught and I have asked, even if it were a 2242 SSD, why that would be difficult to replace?
Now he is complaining about barebone BIOS. How many UltraBooks with 14" or lesser you have seen, coming with fully unlocked Bios like MSI GE76 series gaming laptops?
His main reason of dumping the laptop is not having upgradable memory. So that so much technically enabled person did not realize that before buying that laptop?

Rtx 3050 is way more powerful than any integrated GPU,even the most powerful 680M in this one. So, gaming or any applications which can take advantage of the GPU acceleration, Swift X with its rtx 3050 ti will always perform better.
People need to explore the prime era of gaming and play all the great 90's and 00's titles that now work great with integrated graphics. No paid content or upgrades ether

Probably market has changed more recently. When I had researched this about a year back I did not find any main stream brand selling a 1TB SSD in this form factor.

Cool. In the previous generation the 2280 form factor was reserved for the intel variant of this laptop. The Ryzen variant got the 2248 form factor.

No, that is not true at all. Their availability is same as the normal 2280 SSDs for some times. I personally have purchased at least three 2240 SSDs in last 2 years. The number of options are definitely limited and cost is also not as good. But availability was never an issue.
You probably did not look that hard.

Did your Acer swift x refurb have any cosmetic or usability issues?
None, which is how items should be when they are refurbished and sold by the manufacturer. The box and bubble wrap were designed for that size laptop. No documentation. It took an unusual amount of googling to find the hotkey to switch fan modes (Fn+F). The fan is a bit audible under full load, but in a whooshing, easily ignored way. The keyboard backlight only has one brightness and is either on full time, off full time, or on when typing with a (IMO too short) timeout. Very minor things that I probably wouldn't notice if I didn't have the Thinkbook setting a high standard.

I wasn't able to replicate the deal but good luck to those of you that did. I personally am still a bit salty about the X12 deal cancelation even with the $50 goodwill points that were provided so big YMMV with Lenovo fulfilllment on these IMHO.
