Received mine earlier this week when I was out of town. Just getting my hands on it now.

Does anyone else's unit rock on a flat surface? With the lid closed, I'm able to push the top right corner down, and the laptop rocks.

Calling support when they open up in an hour, but not what I expected out of the box. Hopefully they can send another unit ASAP.

Quote from easymonies :
The form factor of this SSD makes it very difficult to almost impossible to upgrade.
Also keep in mind that the memory is non upgradable. Main reason why I had to ditch my less than a year old 3rd gen same laptop. If you think you can live with these two shortcomings regarding upgradability, then this is a decent laptop.
Sa few other things that I thought this laptop can improve:
1) screen is just ok. Could be a bit brighter.
2) the bios is bare bones
3) the laptop fans turn on to high speed and then slow down to nothing and this cycle repeats over and over. Not sure if they fixed this in the latest gen but this is pretty irritating/ distracting.

thanks for pointing out that the memory is NOT upgradable, such a shame

I have the Ryzen 5 version of this from previous Slickdeals. Decent laptop, would rather have Thinkpad (T/X/Z...), But price is right. Keyboard not nearly as good as ThinkPads. Otherwise feels like a pretty premium build. Using them for work computers and one has already had the screen bezel bent up slightly, no idea what was done to it, probably dropped or hit.

Mine came with Windows 10pro. Upgraded to 11 and cannot get the microphone to work for the life of me. Removed in device manager, reinstalled. Installed driver's from Lenovo, no luck. Anyone have this problem and fix it?

I don't know a ton about USB-C 4.0. Anyone recommend any docks? I believe the USB-C 4.0 port is what powers the machine, but assuming you can power the dock which then powers the machine? Not sure that I'll end up with dual monitors, but just curious about what out there is worth looking at.

Guessing the centered camera is the typical camera and the other one is an IR sensor to support Windows Hello authentication

Light sensor. Shine a light at it you'll see the screen brighten up.

Mine rocks with the lid up. Lid closed it sits flat. Kinda bothers me too.

Chatted a rep and got a quote for $816. Hopeful the 12% CB offered at a certain site works on it, giving me a total post taxes and shipping price around $760 I was tempted to use the 5% Discover PayPal bonus, but decided using an Amex to double the warranty to 2 years with accidental damage included seemed worth paying an extra 4%.

Hopeful it will be a good replacement to an overheating/crashing Vostro 7500, but 30 day free returns makes me feel OK at least giving this laptop a shot. Repped!
Are you certain that Amex would honor the accidental damage as part of the 2-year instead of just the standard 1-year warranty? I'm not too familiar with how that works

Any of the Anker hubs should work fine, I use this one [amazon.com] for my gaming laptop but they also have HDMI + DisplayPort, single video output, etc.

I'm getting a replacement unit, but now I don't feel too comfortable that the issue will be resolved...

My rocks/wobbles with lid up or closed.

Got a quote for $800. Assuming the R-A-K-U-10 10% CB works and the discover 5% with paypal, my total out the door is $680. Very tempting, I was in the market for an ultrabook like this one or the M1 Macbook Air but I also kinda really wanted a touch screen so I'm still on the fence

How'd you do the discover 5%? I tried linking my wife's discover card on my Paypal but I don't think it's working.

Hmm make sure your card details are entered correctly? Maybe log into PayPal first and select your Discover card as the default payment method? I'm not sure, when I select PayPal at checkout it opens a separate window to login to PayPal and from there I can select my Discover card which is my default

I had the same problem with the Gen 3 model -- upgrading Win 10 Pro to Win 11 Pro. Eventually fixed it by doing a clean install. I troubleshot it by creating a Windows to Go USB flash drive and used it to boot Windows 11 Pro. I then looked in Device Manager and saw both the camera and the microphone (the camera already worked). So I knew there was no problem with the microphone. No special drivers were needed although I did download and run the Intel driver utility later.

Download the Windows 11 ISO and use Rufus to flash the USB drive -- there is an option for Windows to Go. You will have to disable Secure Boot in the BIOS settings (F1) and then F12 to select the boot-able flash drive. Later re-enable Secure Boot.

Anybody worried about fan noise should look at a Gen 3 SD thread where they discuss a registry hack. I did it and don't have any unusual fan noise.

EDIT: I did a full backup using Macrium Reflect Free prior to doing the clean install in case it didn't work.
