If you want to shorten the life of any refrigeration product, plug it in immediately. To be clear, any such compressor should sit for 24 hours to let the oil drain down before you turn it on. Sure it will work for a wile if you don't do this preventative measure. But if you wait before you turn it on, you have the chance of making the compressor last many many years. This applies to any such compressor that has been recently at an angle while being moved or jostled around.

I dispute that living in Phoenix, where the temperature gets well over 100 most of the summer and in many garages well above that. If your freezer has trouble transferring the heat from the freezer then it will have trouble cooling or at the very least inefficiently.

This is their regular price, not a deal at all and certainly not a front page deal.
Bought this a month ago for $170 + free shipping. That was the deal.
For this price you might as well get the Insignia one from BB with a built in light.

Most of the bad reviews are from poor packaging and shipping. Lots of reviews stated the freezer had big dents.

....no mention, well I'd assume not "garage ready" then, or go look up the specs and verify operating temps if you live in a cold climate....

If the climate is so cold that the freezer would stop operating, they wouldn't need the freezer (at least while it's cold). Even if its a hot climate like AZ, it wouldn't matter in a garage. It'll operate just fine.

Same freezer different name. There's about 7 different brands with very little variations. Bestbuy one has light tho. I bought it ready for pick up just haven't gone

I prefer Midea (Arctic King) over Haier (Insignia) products. They're both run of the mill Chinese appliances with huge market share, just good enough quality control, and garbage support.
