I had the option to trade in a 1st Gen Echo Show 5 for $20 plus get 25% off on the new one plus Blink Mini camera too, so I think it all becomes basically free if I sell the Blink camera on Ebay or Facebook

It's great as just a clock, simple Bluetooth speaker (audio quality is not great but I don't really care) and simple Alexa commands so I am fine with it because that's all I need it for but beyond that the Show 5 is absolute garbage in terms of performance.

NVM: just read through it. it will be applied later...
I tried to buy another Echo (w/ premium sound) device after doing the trade in (and getting the 25%), but that's limited to 1 per customer. (not just 1 per order) So went back and did the trade-in on wife's account and got 25% instant and $20 when they get the device.
Got 25% off + $5 gift card for my dot. Total came to $10.

The 25% savings was applied before the $50 discount, so for me it was $13.74 before tax.
Plus I got a $25 gift card for the 1st Gen Echo, so I came out ahead.
My experience in the past is that if an item shows up as already registered to the account I'm trying to buy from, I could get the discount immediately from a trade in. If it didn't show up on the list, I couldn't (and in those cases, it might have been registered to a different account - my husband and I each have our own accounts). I don't know if that's still the case as I haven't decided yet if I want to buy this (If I could get a deal on the round gen 4 dot that comes with a clock, I might get that instead).
Anyway, if the item you're trading in isn't showing up in your list to of trade-in options automatically, I wonder if it would if you made sure to go in and register the device to the account you're trying to use for the new purchase? Or just try to buy it from the account that it is registered to (if that account is showing this special offer)?
