I think people are trying to pull a sneaky by just listing a processor type and not the model number… Catching people that are sleeping.
ie: look at this rad laptop with i7 and nvidia gpu!
Could be an i7-740qm and an nvidia 425m (w/1GB of ddr3… not ever gddr3) from like 12 years ago…
I bought the 13.5" version of this, actually had issue with first one making high pitched fan noise. Did warranty swap with Microsoft and new one is good. Yeah, older processor and 8gb of ram but if not a power user you're getting extremely nice build quality and good high res display at cheap price. I'd recommend it for secondary computer or someone with simple needs. This was $1100 2 years ago so at $369 now I think is a good deal.
Battery appears to be new. Look out for LED bleed though. Not as bad as the Acer had, but there still is some on the bottom edge of the SL3. Comes with a 1 year Microsoft warranty, then a year after of the All-State one.

I could see this being a good investment for an older person/couple with light usage in mind or a non-college student as well as a basic but well built machine. This will probably hold up better than a newer $400-ish machine from a build quality standpoint even if the newer machine has a newer processor/more RAM in it even for light tasks. Meaning the newer machine will probably have a terrible screen compared to this and build quality wont even be close from a keyboard/trackpad and chassis feel.
Just looking for a potential windows laptop replacement for student usage, so doesn't have to be anything particularly fancy, but for reference this would be coming from an aging chromebook. While I am not particularly invested in any single brand or laptop, does anyone have any suggestions by chance for student driven laptops within the $300-$700 range? Any insight in that regard would be appreciated!
