Ryzen is the 3580u which is 3+ years old.

I think people are trying to pull a sneaky by just listing a processor type and not the model number… Catching people that are sleeping.

ie: look at this rad laptop with i7 and nvidia gpu!

Could be an i7-740qm and an nvidia 425m (w/1GB of ddr3… not ever gddr3) from like 12 years ago…
Yes does Win 11.

I bought the 13.5" version of this, actually had issue with first one making high pitched fan noise. Did warranty swap with Microsoft and new one is good. Yeah, older processor and 8gb of ram but if not a power user you're getting extremely nice build quality and good high res display at cheap price. I'd recommend it for secondary computer or someone with simple needs. This was $1100 2 years ago so at $369 now I think is a good deal.
I bough this last week and it arrived a couple days ago. It's surprising how much larger the screen feels than the 13.5 version. This is replacing an Acer Swift 3 from 2 years ago that has a supposedly newer and better i7 processor. Cinebench scored 940 for single-core and 3800 for multi-core for the SL3. The Acer scored 1080 and 3300. The bigger screen and better build quality on the SL3 easily wins out between the two. Totally worth it to buy this instead of paying 3-4 times more for a new 15" SL4.

Battery appears to be new. Look out for LED bleed though. Not as bad as the Acer had, but there still is some on the bottom edge of the SL3. Comes with a 1 year Microsoft warranty, then a year after of the All-State one.

Upgrading the SSD [youtube.com] seems fairly straightforward.
Props to being relevant and informative. Biggest problem with this laptop would be the SSD.

Kudos!

Just a heads up for those that think they are going to put a 1TB SSD in this. The 256GB SSDs for this are readily available, but anything larger are not due to chip shortages. Someday they will be back available, but probably not anytime soon.

And Microsoft. And Amazon. And Facebook. And pretty much every giant corporation that only cares about extracting as much money as possible from everyone and do not care one bit about your privacy.

Funny thing is I was considering getting this to put Chrome OS on it.

Totally agree. I get my laptops from Etsy. Buy local!

If it's Newegg, it will be a box filled with weights, or a damaged device that was not repaired. Check out Gamer's Nexus on Youtube.

Yes this is a great option for what is considered premium device. What techies tend to forget is devices like this were not designed for nor ever marketed at them.
When Microsoft set out to build the Surface line they wanted to show that Premium AKA (Apple) could be built by its partners HP, Dell, etc and folks would buy them. Are they overpriced non upgradable devices yes without a doubt. They cost more so the partners were not competing directly on price. MS would rather take the non sale to provide HP, Dell etc to build premium vs the plastic junk we used to get from them.
I think it was a great concept at the time and has given even the hard core techies options in the laptop space that would not have come about had MS not used the tactic.
Is this a capable everyday premium device that can get the job done? No question. It is probably priced where it should have been new or within a few hundred bucks.
if you can get a decent warranty with it at this price it's well worth it.

Now the geek in me wants 16GB ram 1TB storage and a current gen cpu.
well that was the issue.... it was quite premium except the specs qere kinda trash

let alone be a nightmare to service out of warranty.... so much for a "premium" device

There are some higher capacity 2230 SSDs available on AliExpress. Supposedly you can fit a 2240 in this, but might have to grind down the screw hole.
