Great deal if you don't need the water filler. Installed one of these and they are much easier to change compared to my existing Watts 20k filter

Thanks! Been waiting for this deal. Snatched one. Surprised it hasn't received all the likes as the previous deals have

Does this completely remove chlorine or just reduce it?

I've since gone to RO, but I loved my Culligan EZ-4 for years. Not crapping on this deal, but for those looking at this type of water filter, you can get the Culligan IC 1 EZ-Change Basic Inline Icemaker and add the EZ-4 cartridge (they're interchangeable)

Technically all filters only reduce chlorine at best. Claiming complete removal of anything is a very dangerous statement, and usually false in the world of filtration. The NSF/ANSI 42 standard that this one follows is simply "aesthetic chlorine reduction." (Basically removal of 'enough' chlorine to make the water taste good/better.

Take a look at their WQA listing here [wqa.org]; no specific filtration claims other than some aesthetic chlorine reduction, and making the water taste/smell better.

Note that with chlorine removal comes fungus and bacteria. Once a month remove your faucet aerator and clean with bleach or vinegar. This will prevent that black mold, thank me later.

Can anyone compare this model vs the 3 stage filtering system called tsa-3. Is this sufficient or there is significant benefit of a 3 stage system?

my assumption is the 3-stage would filter 'better' but you also have maintainence on 3 filters, 1st is 6 mo, 2nd is 8-12 mo, and 3rd is ever 12 mo

so annually you'll be replacing (2) #1 filters, (1-2) #2 filters, and (1) #3 filter
