Be sure to email SS and ask if this is Microsoft Authorized.

If they say it is, then you have recourse if the licensing fails like it did for me.

Got my money refunded even though I had installed it.

While these licenses may activate and work, they are NOT legit. This is Office Professional Plus, which is only sold by Microsoft through volume licensing to large organizations. They are not intended for sale to consumers. You can call Microsoft and verify this for yourself.

Just use LibreOffice (previously called OpenOffice). It's open source. It's free. Info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LibreOffice
It's compatible with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint for what the vast majority of people use.

If you're using more advanced features, that relatively few people use, especially for home use, there could be some compatibility issues.

I think you don't understand the difference between the various Office products. Office Professional Plus is only sold by Microsoft through volume licensing to large organizations. It is never sold directly to consumers. This seller bought volume licensing keys and is reselling them in violation of Microsoft's terms of use. The fact that they tell you to activate the product within 30 days is a HUGE red flag. Legitimate retail keys can be activated at any time.
There are others that sell it

I really wish SD would stop allowing clearly fraudulent software licenses to be advertised on their platform. I guess it will take a phone call from the FBI or the fraud investigation folks at Microsoft before they learn their lesson. That small referral commission won't seem like it was worth it when that happens.
You're gonna call the FBI for this lol 😂 I get you don't want a bad product circulating but I'm sure with weekly mass shootings Stack Social isn't high on their list

Given MS let you install and use Windows 10 for free with some annoying crap bothering you, it seems pretty low on the list to come after some professional volume license abuse.

But maybe?

LibreOffice is great, but i don't recommend anyone using the spreadsheet for anything important that uses formulas in the cells. There are some occasional bugs that can be very unfortunate if you are doing anything important where you expect the math to always update.

If you check your licensing status, it may say unlicensed, even though the software appears to be functional.
All you people having licensing problems, when you open one of the office applications you need to sign in with the same account you have registered the software with on https://setup.office.com, this is the step that licenses/activates the software on your computer.

First off if microsoft had implemented a better way to activate software licenses it wouldn't be possible to use grey market product keys.

Second, we are talking about a company that had used it's monopoly it destroy other businesses. So I won't be listening to any microsoft defender moralize

Here's my guess about the validity of this license:

There was a law in Europe that said licenses could be re-sold. It was mostly to do with buying/selling used computers I think, and selling off software was seen as just another component. This is why places like StackSocial can legally (for the moment) continue selling these licenses. They may have originated from large organizations (corporate, government, etc.) in Europe. So perhaps, under European law, one can purchase these licenses.

So, what does Microsoft do? If they go after an individual outside of Europe for using these licences, that individual merely claims that it was legal in the place the bought it (Europe), and if they have to, say that they have now moved to the U.S. It's a difficult situation to try to mass reject all these re-sold licenses en mass, as they may indeed be legal in situations. Could they reject all license attempts outside Europe? What if you need to reinstall your license while travelling, or temporarily liiving/working outside of Europe. Perhaps Microsoft even thinks that, if push comes to shove, a similar law might be established in the U.S. anyway.

But the flaw in that assumption is, why couldn't Microsoft have argued that they must be sold-off as-is, in their current license form (volume)? Maybe buyers of the used equipment argued that they shouldn't have to sell the used hardware in the same volume as the software (all in one sale). Therefore, they shouldn't have to sell off a 100-user bulk license arrangement as one product.

There's my guess. Are they legal, well, sort-of, in certain situations, but that's really difficult for Microsoft to determine and force. So, it's tolerated - for now. If major organizations start doing this and Microsoft starts losing significant Office revenue, then we'll eventually see a court case. Buying this license comes with the future risks of deactivation or future limitations. No guarantees here at all. Practically speaking, who's going to complain if they get 2-3 years out of these licenses and they're only used in a home (non-business) environment. If a larger business starts buying them, they individually risk a lawsuit from Microsoft, and Microsoft has a large legal department and deep pockets.

Summary: Not quite fully legal perhaps outside of Europe (or elsewhere), but situations may exist that they are indeed legal. Not easily provable that they are illegal. So, for now, StackSocial keeps selling them without legal objection from Microsoft.

That doesn't always work even when it works to allow you to run the software.

Check the license info from the cmd prompt. It will tell you the exact licensing status.
