According to Consumer Reports, this scored a 68, behind Logitech Circle (81), Google Nest (70), Eufy 2k dual wired (new model) (74), and Lorex (73) just to name a top few.
The areas it did poorer in compared to the others was video quality (3/5), data privacy (2/5). But response time was good (5/5).
The biggest drawbacks are as follows:
- No HDR
- No Geofencing
- No facial recognition
- No 2 factor authentication
- No automatic firmware updates
- No color night vision
- Does not play recorded messages when not answered
- Claims resolution is slightly lower 2k compared to others (this has 2304x1296p vs. 2560x1920p)
Anyways, for the price it's pretty good hence the 68. But these doorbells have gotten quite a bit better in just last few years so spending another $100 or so more to get a sale/Prime Day deal on a doorbell with HDR, color night vision, etc. is worth it.
Hopefully this helps others make a better informed decision if they're on the fence.

I got to thinking I could just screen record anything I wanted to keep on my phone, from the app, if that works. It would be very rare that I'd actually need to save a video clip, and I wouldn't wanna have to go take the SD card out just to do that.
From the video in the previous post screen recording seems possible. But it's crazy that the SD card is encrypted.
Also some other significant issues about 3:30 onward in the YouTube video.

I'm in the second category but still prefer having cloud recording for the "just in case" scenario so I have Nest Hello and a subscription for 24/7 recording.

A lot of these reviews report, that the "Lag" was mainly a problem while on mobile data and not as bad on the home network where the doorbell and app device are on the same SSID wifi Network. That is where I would think the Eufy would shine, but after more reviews I feel I need to wait.. Possibly a 5g phone would cure the lag issues.. IDK.. I need it to work for a 83yr old. Flakey audio and slow vid will cause more problems than the one I want to cure..
It has to work smooth and clear, and the reviews I looked at today made me aware that It might not be something that is refined enough just yet for the tech challenged and or hard of hearing... Alexa can turn lights on and off, but when a switch, bulb or any thing goes out the crap hits the fan.. Door bell not ringing or a app not popping up on the Iphone would lead to sleepless nights and continual testing to make sure it is working...
