I use this unit with my Amazon Fire 8 plus (only the plus has wireless charging) and it works great and holds it just fine. Saved $30 from the official amazon one

This is interesting - They must have changed this. I ordered this exact one from monoprice maybe 2 months ago, and it came with a USB cable and a small power brick.
If this is the same one aI have ( and it looks exactly like it) the iphone 13 Pro Max camera notch gets in the way and it won't connect in portrait. Connects intermittently in landscape.
Prolonged heat shortens battery life, and wireless charging makes your phone hotter per percent of charge than wired. Just don't let your phone get hot to the touch while charging, and you'll be fine.
If you're the type of person to set it and forget it, then maybe avoid the fast chargers.

My pixel charges cooler on wireless while it gets hot on usb charge.
