Apples M1 chip is great, but the build quality on them is terrible, and they're designed to fail within a couple years so you buy another. Check out some of Louis Rossmans videos on them (he's at the forefront of the "right to repair" movement). For example, the current gen MacBook Pro is designed with a power delivery chip that's a known common failure point, and when it fails it sends 14 volts to the SSD, killing it. The SSD can't be replaced, the MacBook can't be repaired, and it ends up in a landfill. I refuse to give my money to a corporation with the worst anti-consumer practices in the industry.

Tried buying. I see the $720 price in my cart momentarily but then it automatically refreshes and removes the item from cart. The Samsung website is a mess.

I'm not seeing the $720 price. My price (Military Discount) in the cart before tax is $764.99.

This is an interesting take, considering I've actually used both machines, take the tinfoil hat off. MacBook has a much sturdier build and while the Samsung has a much better look in my opinion, it's definitely not as nice. You can replace the SSD on Samsung so it's not guilty of creating anti consumerist ewaste? Come on now, let's not do the lame Apple is evil argument on here for the hundredth time.

If you like portability, 2 in 1, or need a solid windows ultra book get the Samsung. Don't care for 2 in 1s and what a solid machine with no OS preference? Get the Air.

MacBooks have a premium feel, so they give the illusion of good build quality. Not all that different from the early Beats headphones that had metal weights added to the inside to give the illusion of quality, even though they were built with cheap plastic everywhere else. It's smart business practice, but not something I'll support with my money. I trust someone who's been repairing them since the beginning and has evidence of their poor design and build quality (not to mention the numerous well known issues Macbooks have had over the years) over a random person on the internet that says they feel well built. Just about everyone I know that's owned a Macbook has had to have it either repaired or replaced within the first year or two. Besides the battery, computer components are supposed to last the life cycle of the device. Apple's customer base buy the new model when it's released, and the devices end up in a landfill not longer after being in the used market because they fail quickly. Samsung is far from perfect, but they haven't been caught on multiple occasions with illegal planned obsolescence and design choices that intentionally prevent a device from being repairable. I'm sure they do it, just like most manufacturers, but not nearly to the extremes that Apple does.

I have this laptop, but the camera is atrocious on it. The pro version has 1080p camera, but you have to search deep in the website to find it. Other than that really like the laptop, but the imo the better deal was when it launched. Had a free monitor and lower price when you trade in a gear S3. The pro 360 2 had a 350 trade in for a gear S3 plus a huge monitor for the pro.

Webcams are terrible in general. It's annoying that the camera quality and tech in them hasn't advanced for a couple decades. I realize the great, high tech camera modules in our smartphones are expensive, but no webcam comes close to that quality no matter how much you spend.

Typing this from my iPad Pro 12.9". But I do agree Apple laptops are hot poop. I am forced to use a $4000 Core i9 Macbok pro (office paid obviously). And I would trade that in for a good $2K top of the line windows laptop anyday.

I have this and love it. I find Samsung bio login to be lackluster though. Otherwise a pretty stellar machine. I don't ever use it in tablet mode, though, it's awkward with the keyboard on the back of it.

I have the m1 MacBook air and it's an amazing machine. No fan, yet never gets too warm. The CPU can only take in 13W of power (both plugged in and unplugged) and sustains it for long while performing as well as the 12 Gen p series i7 processors from Intel (performance with Intel laptops drop dramatically when unplugged). I use a Samsung g9 odyssey with it and it performs as well as my gaming desktop (ryzen 3600 w/ rtx 3070).

If you don't need it now just wait. I know this can be said for any electronic device but it is more so with Samsung laptops. This will easily be 500-600 in a few months and probably 400 or less in 6 months. Who would have ever thought you could get a book 360 pro for 350 but it happened.
