Your induction cooktop may be more advanced than mine but only the now obs D7 skillet could distribute the heat well. D3 warped badly. I found the D5 skillet to be excessively sticky now that the interior no longer has Starburst and is not polished. The Proline skillet is way more but worth it to me for the far better performance and especially the ease of cleaning. YMMV.

Brushed or polished? Polished looks nicer but brushed may last and hide blemishes?

I don't have a preference one way or the other functionally. But most cookware is polished, and I'm particular about matching items since I started down the brushed path years ago. I do think they tend to clean up nicer with some barkeepers friend, but they're identical otherwise.

Re: brushed vs polished. I sprung for one of the copper clad line to start with my most used type pan (5 qt saute pan). My wife hated the polished finish, which really surprised me. (Maybe b/c we are coming off a couple decades of using hard anodized Calphalon?) So, next 2 pieces were brushed D5 and she's much happier with that. "À chacun ses goûts."

What's the best 10 inch frying pan? Getting confused on bd5 vs sd5, second vs packaging damaged. Is this all marketing fluff? Many look the same, but price differs. Looking for an all round pan for basic breakfast egg cooking, to meat searing. Lead would be appreciated. Also, i currently own gas, but will switch soon to induction. Last thing, would those pan get the ugly mark that gas stoves leave on pots and pans? If so, I would wait to install my induction cooktop before using them
