Gen2 has higher resolution camera with some degree of autotracking, privacy switch, adaptive color temperature, but no 3.5mm audio output. Basically, it is mainly with improved camera for video call.

It's not giving instant trade-in discount of 25%. The T&C says once we receive the trade-in item, after that a promotional discount of 25% discount will be available for new Echo device. By that time the Prime Deal will be over, so it's useless.

You can select to send the trade-in device to a store (e.g. uBreakIFix) and the 25% discount + credit can be immediately available after the store associate enter in the system.

How do you change it to that? I don't get an option on how to send it to them when I fill it out

I'm not seeing anything about trade in - is there a link?


Well, it appeared finally in my Amazon App and then in Chrome and even though I chose a device to trade-in, no 25% and instead of $25 for the Echo, they give $5…

I think everyone got confused with 25% trade-in credit and Amazon GC. I spoke to the customer service and found that first we need to send the trade-in device, then they will evaluate your device and then they will apply the gift card and 25% trade-in discount later.

So, we will not get the discount right away and even we can't purchase with the above mentioned price now. It's for future purchase only. By that time the actual price of the product will be changed.

It is hit or miss. I usually get the immediate credit. In this case Amazon did not give me the credit, so I cancelled the Trade.
