I have the same question. Isn't Windows Defender (Windows Security) enough for malware protection?
Generally normal users will not need anything more, but it's good to have a backup plan if you can. I personally like it for the sake of having something in addition and their scans are very impressive.

Major difference is that MWB prevents download of malware from malicious websites automatically blocking Trojans etc. It's a great companion to Windows defender for perfect protection!

UPDATED: Just purchased and registered it to my account even though I have ~11 months remaining on my current subscription. The newly registered license remains inactive until I activate it.
