I want to try an ultrawide. I liked the GIGABYTE G34WQC, would this one be better?
TIA!
Price:
highest $500, average $495 , lowest $350 for va curved per CCC for the last 12 months.
highest $460 , average $440 , lowest $350 for ips flat per CCC for the last 12 months.
I'd say get flat for video editing and curved for gaming. If you sit far away from monitor flat will work just as good. I got the curved because the intended purpose is for gaming only, it's a bigger sale, rated higher on amazon ranking, and I've never had a curved one so I definitely want to try one.
It's not a problem for me as my office is dark, but maybe the brightness @ 400 nits could be an issue for people if you're using it in a bright environment. 400 nits is plenty bright for me. (even in a lit environment)
I spend most of the time programming on it. Visual studio code has never been so crisp. Add PowerToy's FancyZones on top and it's real nice.
The only negative I really had against buying it was that it didn't have the picture-by-picture mode that Gigabyte's m34 or whatever had, but that's out of stock and FancyZones (for the most part) is a good substitute for that.
EDIT: also I want a flat not just cause I love the flat aesthetic, but in case I get back into 3d modeling.

Maybe better to save $70 for 2" compared to this?
