I currently have the first generation Google wifi mesh. It sits behind the router. Xfinity download speed is 300mbs max. I'm only getting about 100mbs from the wifi mesh. Will Eero make it faster?

Yes. These are WiFi 6 devices that supports higher speeds. However, they are not Tri-Band and for the best performance you might want to look at Eero Pro devices.

You'll almost never get the advertised speeds from a WiFi router without it being hard-wired in.

My sister's carrier gave her one of these for a router. You can only configure it by app. There is no web user interface to configure it. 2 ports, one Wan and potentially one LAN. Nothing about it seemed high quality to me. It's an absolute show stopper that you would need to add a switch to hardwire multiple devices. Media streamers absolutely should be hard wired. TVs, Streaming boxes, Desktops. I'd stay so far away from these for anyone that actually like their internet. Power users should stay away.

How many Ethernet ports are you using? This only has 1. So if you are all wireless or only have a single desktop/wired printer, get the router for $71. If you use more ports than that, I'd recommend a used AC86U or new AX3000. ASUS has by far the best long term firmware support.

You can also just connect the eero to a switch. Eeros firmware is very dumbed down. Great router for those who are technically handicapped

Are you using 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz? I get full speeds when using 5.0, but not 2.4.

I've had this for a month now and got it for this price. No complaints so far. I bought this knowing lack of ports and use of their app which wasn't a big deal for me.
