FYI Bose 700 is also on sale.
Both have their own very distinct sound. Sony is suppose to have superior ANC. I have the Sony xm3 and xm4 and love them both. They're quite comfortable but my ears begin to hurt after some hours. But I still love them! I've tried on older QCs and thought they were insanely comfortable. If you like bass and very defined terrible, the Bose are for you. I really don't think you can go wrong with either. Neither are audiophile level. Both are real fun.

I have both. I mostly like the XM4 except for flights over the pacific. I find the Bose more comfortable after 6+ hours.
FYI Bose 700 is also on sale.
Not an audiophile, but sounds the same to me. Notable upgrades for me are the USB-C charging, aware mode, and equalizer in app.
