I've had this modem for over a year now with Xfinity. Bought it when I upgraded to gigabit. I love it! It's by far the most stable cable modem I've had over the years and outperforms earlier Arris and Motorola modems I've had not only in speed but most noticeably in stability. I'd recommend it without reservation.

I'm also still using my SB6141, I never grabbed those SB8200 deals. Good price for a newer modem!

Anyone know if this works with Cablevision (Optimum Internet Service)? TIA.

This is a router. The device in this thread is a modem. The two are separate functions of a working LAN inside your house.

Some devices are a combined modem + router, which is likely why you're confused.

Go to their site or just do a search for "compatible modems optimum internet" or the like and almost every cable ISP will have an article on compatible modems.

Current Arris non-wifi based modems are typically all supported unless your cable provider uses VLAN type of configurations to deliver TV service over cable like some fiber providers do. Otherwise, it should work.

By the way, the S33 is a fantastic futureproof modem if anyone is interested.

Thank you for that review. I just upgraded to gigabit with Xifinity from 600mps. I had been using the SB8200 without any issues and expexted speeds came without disconnects, but needed a new one for the gigabit. I narrowed my search down to this one and the SB8611. Both were roughly the same cost and had similar reviews. I was able to order the S33 from the Amazon Whse Like New for $140. Then, I saw a Prime Day deal for the SB8611 for a new one and was doubting my decision. Your comment made me feel better. :-)

If you don't mind, what router have you been using? Thanks.
