I bought 8. I'm not a Costco member and these are the best deal I've seen. I needed two more hubs and four more dimmers anyway making the deal the final part for my house. Now I just need a few candlelight bulbs.

Plus this one comes with a hub and Costco is just lights

Yes.. The Costco ones are Bluetooth .. so you don't need the hub

Do the hubs only have a limited working distance? Is that why you needed more than one?

More than one hdmi sync, for example (if one is being used, the light sync for other turns off)

The hmdi sync and the limitation of 63 devices are why I need extra hubs. I have over 100 bulbs and when we begin doing the outdoor transition to hue I'll have double that.
