My only issue with them is that the clock on one is slower than the other. So it falls behind and the cats will rush to the faster one every time. I have to resync them about every week or so.
So you could also get away with using the 5L with a splitter, but I read the splitter doesn't evenly disperse the food. So two 3L may be a better choice.

You can change the portion anywhere between 1 portion to 50 portions to dispense at feeding time. And you can have up to 6 feeding times.
I give my cats 1/3cup, twice a day, which is about 3 portions per feeding.
