Agree on effects of Verizon ownership, since these 'discounted' SIM offerings for T-Mobile & AT&T phones cost $12 more than 'discounted' Verizon-compatible SIMs.

How is that a deal? $48.
At the moment it's the cheapest price for a one-year extension plus time etc. on Tracfone. Although I should have noted it's $60 for AT&T and T-Mobile. At $4 a month for phone service - that's still cheap.
Also with the new owners, Verizon, perhaps the ultra-cheap deals are over.

I don't get the comments here. What in the world is wrong with Verizon and how is $48 for a year of service with 3 GB not a deal for Tracfone? I won't buy, since we just got a year with a new phone, but would be happy to find a deal like this when I need to add data or service time to the phone.

Does the code for the plan get sent separately or is it attached to the sim? I use these when I travel back to the us, but already have a sim w/a number I'd like to keep.
tried two month ago, won't work for extending existing service, has to be new activation, so I end up return it for refund, but has to go through Ebay. Because service was very bad, hard to find people to solve the problem.

Might be because a good percentage of these are empty sims. There are hundreds of complaints on SD going back 3 years & no one has ever fixed the problem. It's YMMV if it works.

I agree, this is pretty decent deal if you need the 1 year service and 3gb data (usually $10 per 1gb) is pretty decent since most of the plans only give you 1.5gb, I have had no issues with tracfone, very easy to move the plans over to your phone on their website. Bought the Moto E and LG K31 Rebel with bundle plans. Tried using both, did not like either so I ported both plans onto LG Journey. I have 2 more years/10gb data but the data and year service extension is worth it for me. Might buy 1 or 2 of these soon.

Yeah - I hope Verizon fixes this. We shall see.
One difference on this deal from the most-recent one like it on Ebay is that in this one Tracfone says it will accept returns within 30 days - buyer pays. Wasn't so for the last Ebay offer like this. Having said that, who wants to return a SIM card? And Ebay always stepped in when Tracfone wouldn't accept a return. Maybe Ebay told them they won't keep doing that.

There is no separate code. But if you mean "a number I'd like to keep" - if that means your telephone number, you can keep your phone number with the new SIM.
