Snagged the purple when it was briefly in stock, had to check it frequently (we really prefer purple to orange/white). I see lots of bad reviews on the 'finish' peeling off and being scratched up, but to my knowledge, isnt this the protective film? Delivery said next weekend but now shows this weekend.

I have the large and small versions of this line, and I've had them for years. I have the in orange, which I actually wanted. I can tell you with certainty that, if you check these bags, they will get scratched up considerably. I've even had some really deep ones pop up, and yes, there's a peeling sort of thing that happens. It's not protective film. It's the top layer of coating of the suitcase itself. I've attached a photo. Hopefully it helps illustrate what I'm talking about.
While it's not aesthetically pleasing, the bags have held up well, and they provide a good way to maximize what you can take with you on a trip, given how light they are.

Yes I see that is the paint, but the Amazon reviews show what you can clearly see is a protective film that they are complaining about. Honestly I feel cosmetic issues with luggage I'll deal with, I'm more concerned about the wheels and zippers, which is why I spent more for these and skipped the cheaper options as there were too many faulty zipper and wheels reviews for my comfort. Tbh if someone gets hardsided luggage you kinda have to acknowledge it's gonna get scratched up. I prefer cleaning a scratched up polycarbonate luggage set VS not being able to clean properly a pretty fabric set, but that's just my preference. Glad to hear they've worked out well for you so far, I'm excited to get them!

There's lot of protective film on it. I just peeled it all off
