I would sure hope that a suitcase will survive way more than 10 international travels. Definitely expecting a few decades from Samsonite. I have basic Swissgear check in size suitcase that I bought for $60 15 years ago or so, still going strong. It survived 20 or so transatlantic trips with multiple transfers so far and I don't expect it to break any time soon.
I think even $30 luggage from a discount store should survive 10 international trips.

Decades 😂. What airline do you fly? Even the top suitcases wouldn't last decades. They don't exactly baby them.

Seeing many hard shell Samsonites here on SD but not the cloth ones. Are these hard shell ones trendy nowadays vs cloth? Or are there additional advantages? I was under the impression the cloth ones expands more and have more pockets.

Just bought the Centric 2 set the other day for $255. Buying these and returning the others. Nice find OP. The non double wheels doesn't bother me. As a matter a fact i saw reviews where one of the double wheels break off.

I just replaced my previous samsonite luggages due to broken / noisy wheels (7 yrs old - 2 covid yrs = 5 yrs old). According to my experience:
  • 28 inch luggage with single wheels can survive up to 10 international travels
  • 20 inch luggage with single wheels can survive at least 20-30 travels (I travelled a lot with it domestically)
My new samsonite luggages come with double wheels, hope they can last longer.

This deal is great and I think all of them can last > 5 yrs for regular travelers.

We got two sets of these last summer, in the same color, and they've survived two international trips and a handful of domestic/road trips. Got them a little more than this price.

Totally agree. I've travelled with this suitcase for years but when I got a double wheeled suitcase, the ease of gliding is so much better, particularly when you pack it to 23kg. I'm not going back to single wheels anymore.

Bought a set of these in gray in 2016 for $260! They look great and work perfectly after a lot of long haul travel. Recently bought this orange set for around the same price as listed today and they look pretty identical, so hoping for the same performance.

I've had this exact set (orange) for over 6 years and it has held up extremely well. Have taken it on multiple international/domestic trips without any issues. Great deal!

Bought this set in blue for similar price direct from Samsonite and the Freeform set of 2 from Amazon for $200. I ended up keeping the Freeform as the Winfield 2 had a smoother surface and would be prone to more scuff marks than the Freeform. It seemed to have cheaper quality handle, wheels and the zipper lock doesn't sit flush against the suitcase. Also, although you get one more luggage, the size of the bigger one was almost too big (bigger than the Freeform) and the middle one, too small for a check in luggage and too big as a carry on. Great price on this set though.

I am like a nomad people. When I do International traveling, I always put everything into it to maximize the limit (e.g. 23kg). At the same time, I will walk with the luggage for quite a long distance. There are significant tears on the single wheels of my old luggages and I do not think any other luggages can avoid it. It is also the reason why I upgrade mine to double wheels.

If you travel with light package and always use a trolly, I am not surprised your luggage can survive decades... The only risk for you is the airline staffs.

True, but this is a huge step up from the Rockland crap SD staff has been pushing.
