FYI for anyone who has a current wells fargo credit card - for most of their older cards you can do a product change over to this card instead. I just did this so I can move away from my old 1% cash back card to upgrade to this. You don't get the sign up bonus but all of your credit limit, age of account and all transfers over with it.

Here's my plan. My local utilities allow extra payment. 500 to electricity, 500 to water, 500 to etc and set up the CC to pay monthly to finish before APR is up and free 300 dollars
in fact i've got medical bills anyway

Check something. My county charges 2% extra when I paid my property tax with a CC. Probably the same with yours., That probably wipes out your discount.
Mine charges 3%
So I also pay by check
And it seems a lot of local restaurants have stated chafing up to 3.5% if you pay w card vs cash
Guess you can't blame them if they are being charged by the cc but it sure is inconvenient
Planning to take autograph or active cash card ? Seems active cash is more beneficial with 2% cashback on all purchases
I have both just to get the rewards of both.. I prefer this one just due the the phone insurance. Different cards good for different things... I got the Active Cash when it was first offered and never used it again after the first $1000 spend. This one I might actually keep using for awhile.
Agreed, no nonsense, categories, or keeping 3 cards in wallet for 3-5% but I do keep the Autograph for its 3%.
lol I have accumulated like 15 cards over the years I think one or two ever stay in my wallet but the rotating 5% means I almost always have a card giving me 5% back on paypal and my Amazon card gives me 5%+ there. I am a slickdealer at heart if I can get 5% instead of 3% (as well as another sign on bonus) I am gonna get a new card.
For redeeming the points, is there a required minimum amount before you can redeem? I have the active cash and I can redeem a number of ways and if I don't have enough for a gift card, I can always redeem for purchases. Is that the same case for the Autograph?

Usually $300. They have lots of gift card options with a 10% discount. If you are buying those, you will get $330 value.
Good luck finding any bank that has morals and ethics lol.
