Was in a rut when my central air compressor crapped out and found this deal, and had to sign up for membership lol. For 10000 DOE BTU with dual hose, can't seem to go wrong with this portable air conditioner and would be perfect for my horizontal sliding window.

Must be very popular since I'm getting the second notification of the day for the same product.

Wouldn't it be better to buy a heat pump? This just uses a heating element for the heat source ala. hair dryer.

this is a VERY suboptimal AC/Heater, It should really only be used by renters who can't otherwise access air conditioning. For homeowners, a mini-split will be better 100% of the time.

True, but even on a low budget, an in-window unit like a Midea U AC will be much more effective

I thought this model reverses the flow, some reviewers got a drain hose for the purpose of running it in reverse and have to drain the condensate constantly if they do. Somehow though, I didn't get my hose when I got mine delivered yesterday.

Some communities don't allow window units.

Right, which is the exact point I made in my original comment
