You can be right, but you can definitely prove that you were not running on red lights.

I have a 720p from an Amazon sale few years back. Its screen is clear enough to identify a green or red. And it is more clear when I transfer the memory card to my laptop.

this... If all you can afford is a potato cam with 480p then you should get it as its better than nothing. The way people drive ANY video will help you prove you are not the crazy driver and help protect yourself somewhat to prove you were not at fault. But sure higher resolution is going to be better.

..unless you are the crazy driver and then I guess maybe you are better off with nothing and making up crazy stories for the cops, that seems to work for some of them.
