I'd pay extra for the CDP S150, which supports three pedals.

I would agree if I wasn't so strapped for money haha. Unless the CDP S150 costs around this price, I personally am settling for this CDP S100 and Costco's pretty good customer service.

Is the "3 pedals" very important for beginners? I know nothing about keyboards or pianos and my 2 kids just started to learn and they seem really interested. Now we have a semi-weighted 88 keyboard (Alesis) but I heard fully weighted keyboard is better? So I am thinking maybe we need to get a fully weighted keyboard in the future and am keeping an eye on the deals. Also we don't have a lot of space to work with. So definitely I like the compact keyboard. I don't even need the fixed stand or bench.

In this case, do you think I should get the cdp s150 and then the 3 pedals in the future when needed? Thanks!

He may know better regarding the three pedals but I personally have never found myself using them back when I was taking private lessons for a couple of years. I would like to note that while I wasn't playing super crazy advanced pieces, I was playing all the classics from Mozart, Beethoven, etc. and I never found the need for the other 2 pedals.

Would definitely recommend weighted keyboards though. They are FAR better than semi weighted and actually train people (particularly kids) the feel of a real piano. Gets fingers strong and in my opinion, helps with building proper form.

If you don't need the stand, I believe that places like Guitar Center sell this model (Casio CDP S100 is the same just labeled different) for $350 as of today 7/22/2022. Also, if you call Guitar Center, the representative usually gives a 15% coupon if the item is not already on sale. Although for just $50 more you get a stand and chair but not that big a deal.

I just ordered this keyboard today cause Casio's weighted keyboard design is supposedly very good and also, it's Costco so I know if I have an issue, they'll figure it out for me. Also, super compact which is good for my small apartment bedroom and supposedly good quality for it's price.

From a relative novice, I agree that having a weighted keyboard is just a VERY different experience than some plastic key "toy" keyboard. Makes you feel like you are making music, rather than pushing buttons.

Thanks for your reply. I did see that cdp s100 without stand etc. is $50 cheaper and I think the only difference is s150 supports 3 pedals. I also would prefer to get it at Costco but I can't figure out where to put the piano with the fixed stand. I would have to get rid of some furniture to do that. Too bad they don't sell just the keyboard. I already have a folding piano stand so really I just need a weighted keyboard?

64 note polyphony? LOLOLOL HARD PASS!!!!

You'd be better off buying an old school Casio 61 or 76 key keyboard for 100 until you can save up for a more realistic digital piano.

I personally think 3-pedal support is more important than the stand/bench stuff, especially when your kid's teacher uses them. S150 also has other features that S100 does not. For me, S150 alone > S100 + Stand/Bench.

If you don't need stand/bench, why bothering considering S100 bundle, as S150 alone costs same or less.

Thanks for your insight. I agree that without the stand or bench, the price is not a big difference. I actually saw that Adorama has the s150 on sale for the same price as this bundle now. But I haven't purchased anything from Adorama before. Anyone knows if this seller is ok?

Pretty good price. Couple months ago I ended up getting my 13 year old niece a weighted keys YAMAHA P71. A lot of younger people want something portable to bring over to friends to play, learn from each other and create. I kept reading complaints about bundled stands & seats being junk. Make sure you do your homework and read reviews. You'll start finding some surprising things. Even experts with no monetized links have posted their opinions of many weighted digital pianos.

Adorama is fine (reputable for many electronics). But isn't S150's price normally $379? It's interesting only S100 has frequent discount.

It seems like the cheapest "sale" price is 349.99 for s100 and $399.99 for s150 now. And I did see there is a newer version s160 but that is close to $500. So it seems like some stores don't even sell s150 anymore? Maybe that's why? But I don't really want to pay $100 more for a similar keyboard... 🤔
