I think Costco as the same price or $189.99. I remember taking a look at it a few days ago.

Anyone know if I have the older google wifi and purchase the newer model, do I have to reset all my wifi devices or will it automatically sync to the newer pucks?

It's been awhile but old and new set integrated pretty easily a couple years ago. I will say though that I have constant issues with the system now that I did not have prior. I have to manually restart the pucks A LOT because the strength of the mesh will diminish.

At this point I've kind of just resolved myself to this. When I researched it after initially getting them it seemed like it was a very common problem with no resolution. My house is just a bit over 5000 square feet and we have 7 in total (old & new) plus our gateway which last speed tested at 995 mbs.

I go back and forth between trying to improve it by getting more newer ones since I've already invested so much, to chucking the whole system.

Sharing all this to say, I wouldn't recommend to someone starting new. But understand when you already have a system why expansion would be attractive.

This is not the same. The Amazon deal gives you 3 Nest Wifi routers. Target and BestBuy give you 1 router and 2 points.
The routers are better devices as they have higher processor and the option to hardwire.

5000 square foot house. Do you live in a mansion? also isn't the newer google wifi suppose to cover more area than the previous?

This seems like a decent deal since all devices are routers. I wish they sold it this way instead of 1 router + 2 wifi points. Super confusing since the previous gen model could also function as routers. Easy to split among friends/family who have the system.

I could've used this before I bought a refurb Nest router to give to a friend...

Regarding what is better, YMMV. The points also serve as smart speakers with Google assistant which some folks prefer over hardwiring 3 routers. I don't know if processors are different. The max Wifi speeds delivered by router (Up to 2.2 Gbps) and point (Up to 1.2 Gbps) are different.

I have this set up and they do indeed work together.

I feel like we're bottoming out on the benefits of more network speed on wireless. These support up to 2200Mbps - twice as fast at Gigabit Ethernet. How much more speed do we need to flip web pages and stream Tiktok? LMAO

Agreed... a lot of new tech is like that these days. We're reaching a level of diminishing returns. As long as people have full home coverage, and enough speed for whatever tasks they are doing, getting newer equipment just for the hell of it doesn't really make sense.
