Lifespan of batteries are limited, so there's a trade-off from the reduced price of the refurbished products. Batteries represent a significant portion of cost so there's some risk the refurbished batteries are short lived and not providing the range and power expected.

I switch between pedal assisting and just using the throttle, probably like 10 miles with pedal assist 60% of the time if I had to estimate. This is on city streets that are fairly hilly.
