I agree, but at Costco specifically, I don't see the originals, which are better for smoking than the competition, that they carry at my stores.

50 cents / lb is a deal?
Maybe Labor Day will have something better like 42 cents / lb ... when that looks attractive, you know things are bad.

As for warehouse deals, last Costco deal was kingsford professional at ~44 cents / lb... tried it, don't like it, burns faster but somehow not hotter than regular, not even as hot as regular.

As a charcoal guy, I use the Costco briquettes for nightly dinner, but I'm also confused on the competitions they want these to be used for
