I just called Boost , their customer service barely spoke English
got transferred to the cancelation department
the woman named Amanda told me that this is the price and the device is prepaid and I will not be charged if I don't use the device
If I want to use the device then I can buy a plan from their website.

I hope this helps

Any limitations On How I Use My Device? If you get a Device from DISH Wireless or a DISH Wireless authorized retailer without paying full price (MSRP) for the Device, you agree (1) within 60 days to activate and use this Device on the DISH Wireless network and (2) not to resell, trade in, or export, or participate or profit in the resale, trade in, or export of the Device to a third party until you have activated and used the Device on the DISH Wireless network and met all your other financial and contractual obligations to us. If you do this without meeting your obligations, we reserve the right to take any action we deem necessary, including charging you for the difference between the Device's full price and the price you paid for it, and seeking recovery of related damages. If you have a separate agreement with Boost to acquire, purchase, or lease a Device, any restrictions on resale in that agreement will also apply, so please refer to the terms of any such agreement to understand your rights to resell your Device. Any tampering with, reprogramming, reflashing, or unlocking of this Device without DISH Wireless's permission violates DISH Wireless's and third parties' rights under state and federal laws and could subject you to civil or criminal liability.

Naw, the information on the page is misleading. It doesn't mention a plan, or requiring activation. Your cc will back you up on a chargeback. Take a screenshot and a Xanax.
Oh, of course! That accept prompt and the entirety of the terms and conditions of the sale are just a bunch of meaningless words! Bro! $1 power banks bro! Just relax! Wink5

Looks like, using a Visa/Mastercard GC is the only way to avoid auto charge 60 days later.

I already got the free T-Mobile hotspot and I unlocked it too. I actually have the Google Fi data sim in it now.

This "Any limitations On How I Use My Device? If you get a Device from DISH Wireless or a DISH Wireless authorized retailer without paying full price (MSRP) for the Device, you agree (1) within 60 days to activate and use this Device on the DISH Wireless network and " is turning me off from this deal. I don't want any risk of being charged extra because I didn't fulfill an obligation.

When at the checkout screen, at the top of the page it shows No Service Contracts, I wonder if you could use that to dispute the charges if they try to charge after the fact

Check your local public library. Recently, some started renting out free mobile hotspot devices. When I mentioned this, they just rented one out to me no questions asked using my library card. It uses Tmobile 5g. I just use the library app to renew the hotspot rental. Only renewed it once so far so not sure how many times I'll be able to keep renewing.
My library doesn't allow to renew from online through the website. I always do reserve online though. They want everybody have a chance to rent. Hotspots are very popular and tend to be put on hold a lot too so I tend to wait a couple days after returning if I want to rent again. Sometimes they let me rent again after I immediately drop off return if available but rarely ever as they have a pretty large holding list.

My library uses Alcatel as well but it is T-Mobile service and not Boost.

It would probably work if they also accept "I didn't read the terms and conditions that I explicitly clicked and agreed to" as a valid reason to issue a chargeback.

Confused...can you explain? Ty
Some public library systems recently received a bunch of chromebooks and Tmobile hotspot devices that you can check out, like regular books, with just a library card. My library also has an app I can use to manage my loans, so I can just renew the hotspot from my phone without physically having to go to the library. But as for how many times I can renew the loan, I'm not sure yet. I guess it depends if there's a waiting list or not.

Read terms and condition before you pay, clearly says this:

If you have a separate agreement with Boost to acquire, purchase, or lease a Device, any restrictions on resale in that agreement will also apply, so please refer to the terms of any such agreement to understand your rights to resell your Device. Any tampering with, reprogramming, reflashing, or unlocking of this Device without DISH Wireless's permission violates DISH Wireless's and third parties' rights under state and federal laws and could subject you to civil or criminal liability.
