I just called Boost , their customer service barely spoke English
got transferred to the cancelation department
the woman named Amanda told me that this is the price and the device is prepaid and I will not be charged if I don't use the device
If I want to use the device then I can buy a plan from their website.

I hope this helps

What this "deal" has taught us is that a lot of Slickdealers are too trigger happy and do not read before buying. Rip to all our fellow comrades that will be getting harassed by debt collectors in the next few months. 🥀

Had an Alcatel phone, worst phone I've ever had. Just an FYI
When I was in college I had an Alcatel phone that would turn itself on and auto dial the police (full keyboard non-smart phone).

Happened on three different occasions before i ditched it.

Were you all planning on reselling this? Is that why you are all worried about getting charged for not activating it? I thought a hotspot for $1 is a great deal just to use it for a month on their lowest plan. Am I missing something?

You are wrong, we are more than willing to endure self-torture and suspense in order to save a few dollars. Because remember, shaving off that couple of dollars and cents are much more important than time, physical health, and peace of mind.

I think ignoring the Hotspot, it's a good deal on a portable battery. The Tos fud is concerning but I'm doubting they'd charge 49 bucks in September. I plan on activating one anyway... Tbh I want to know if I can use this with their $300 unlimited plan or not (doubt it but can't hurt to try)

I bought it but cancelled after reading reviews of the actual product. This is barely functional even as a hotspot, too slow and unable to use most bands. Was hoping for 18650 battery cells so I could harvest them but no go there either. Have quite a few battery packs laying around, all a minimum 10k vs the 4400 that this is. The battery pack features will be limited on this due to using usb a

edit: cancelled with boost mobile and got case numbers but the charges still posted (no longer pending), looks like it is time to dispute with cc company

You're wrong. Slickdealers keep debt collectors in business.

You are too scared to pull the trigger, so you hope the deal is not real so you feel like you didn't miss out.

The way I read TOS was they could go back and charge you the full price of the item but…. In the cart it shows the item as $0.99. Not $49.00 (or whatever) discounted to $0.99 so that is my defense. Receipt shows total price as .99 🤷 ♂️
its the other way around. they cant charge you anymore if its listed at $49 discounted to $0.99. however. if its only listed for $0.99 without any discount mentioned then they can base on their terms to charge you more at anytime.

People... nowhere on the website does it say that they'll charge you if you don't activate the device.

These devices are locked to the boost mobile network. So they're hoping if you decide to use this device that you'll use their service and give them money. If not, you can just use this device as a battery bank for $1 or try to unlock it and use it anywhere else.
