It's full AndroidTV. Meaning that it has the Playstore, Google assistant, and can also side load apps very easily
Remote is very good, except for the dedicated Netflix, etc. buttons (I don't care for those)
I haven't used it for gaming tho
I've had it for about 1 year and also have a Chromecast with remote. They're basically the same thing. For the price, I'd go for this anytime, I've seen them new at Walmart for $15. Price new is $20.
I would stay away from the Fire sticks, tv, etc. (unless you're really invested in that ecosystem)
And in haven't really used a RokuTV, but I can't see how it would be better than this, specially with the AndroidOS backing it
It doesn't state that the VIPoutlet listing is refurbished, but is it safe to assume it's a refurb? If that's the case, I'd rather pay the extra $4 to get it directly from Walmart.

Note: I had to dig to 'other sellers' and found it under VIP Outlet (who I've purchased things from on ebay before with good success)...basically a WalMart refurbisher.
Overall, I've had good luck with this device and end up using it instead of the other features on my smart tv...it's faster across the board, and can do more.

Any pros and cons vs Roku or FireTv?
Is the UI android? some sort of Walmart/Onn branded skin?
Wondering if they allow all apps/channels or if there are contract disputes etc that block some?

it has Dolby Audio not Dolby Atmos (but for $16.00 I wasn´t expecting it)...
Dolby Audio is a 2D audio technology that makes subtle enhancements to whatever you're watching — be it a sporting event, streamed movie or even a DVD or Blu-ray — so that it sounds generally better. It automatically adds detail so that you can better hear dialogue, for example. It also adjusts the volume so when there's a quick cut scene or you're even switching between channels, you're not going from extreme highs to extreme lows (or vice versa).
Dolby Atmos, is a 3D immersive technology that allows a speaker or speaker system to fool your brain into thinking that sound is coming from all around you. It essentially gives you the effect of feeling like you're watching a movie in the cinema, with speakers positioned all around you, even when you're not.

I know what atmos is, I have 2 atmos sound bars. The vid I posted at the 8:13 mark, it shows the device has atmos support which is surprising for a cheap device

while these android boxes are good, the remote do tend to lose connectivity when the box gets hot. when pressing a remote button. the led indicator shows red . this is a known issue.. dont think there is a fix as yet.

Almost every app.
For some reason the pure android version of xfinity stream won't work on this, but the fire version does. You might have to mix and match some sideloaded apps.

Ugh, my remote hangs, so I have to use the Google TV app over bluetooth to control the device. I've tried to do the remote update a couple of times, but it doesn't seem to help

You'll want to get an OTG cable and a 256GB USB 3 Flash drive too.
