until directstorage api is released (and game devs have to incorporate it into each game), while nvme will be technically a little faster here and there (we're talking a few seconds at most, generally speaking), it won't "feel" faster, at least for everyday uses & gaming. at least nowhere near the difference you'd feel from a HDD to a SATA SSD.

at the end of the day, if you're getting an SSD, think about your budget/needs. this is one of the best SSDs out there right now (until pcie gen 5), with samsung being one of the most reliable brands for SSD. if you need a brand new SSD, i do recommend nvme at this day and age since it's not going to destroy your wallet (compared to SATA), and once directstorage api is utilized for PCs, it might make a difference.
but if you're already running on a SATA SSD, you don't need to run out and upgrade to this now thinking it will be a significant improvement. you won't feel it enough to justify the cost.
Between this and a Ryzen 5600X my computer boots up seemingly instantly and load times in games are screaming fast. I got the 500 GB size, but 1 TB is probably the sweet spot if you don't have an old HDD sitting around for file storage.
If your a pc gamer go for the sn770 for $80 on ebay! Fastest game loads and full hard drive transfers. beats this and the sn850 in most practical uses. It's all about the 'random' 'low kb' movements!
