BJ's reviews are tricky as they've mixed in many other Samsung soundbar reviews so it's difficult to know which Samsung soundbar they're talking about.
This unique warehouse Samsung soundbar, just like other Costco offerrings, are tricky to compare to other kits. I don't think you'll find an equivalent model elsewhere at RTINGS.com or stores. You might think there's an equivalent but you'll later find that these warehouse models come with a smaller sub woofer, giving you much less bass (and watts).
This is a plain Samsung soundbar without all the new features to match their newer technology TVs.
Therefore these features are missing in this Samsung soundbar:
- NO eARC (only plain HDMI)
- NO Dolby Atmos
- NO HDMI passthrough
- NO Q-Symphony
- NO latest bluetooth version
- NO Samsung SmartThings integration (USB firmware updates only)
- NO Samsung tap to play from phones
- NO direct wi-fi connection
- etc.
Lastly, these come with the older 8500-series rear speakers and not the newer 9100-series. These rears are small indeed. The sub woofer is unusally light and lacks bass (and not the sub woofer in many other Samsung kits) so you'll likely place this facing you rather than far away or behind/beside your sofa. You can checkout the (non-professional) unboxing review... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kybe1Gx

Aahhh. Sorry...misunderstood your question/comment. I just bought the HW-A60M which looks to be almost the same as this model but without the two surround sound speakers. I am returning it as the center channel dialogue is almost non existent. There is no separation of sound. Just amplifies the tv speakers.
The center channel quality is what I am curious about with this model.
update: I see the user above this comment addressed my question regarding dialogue.

I'm told that there's a Samsung 3.1.2 (with upfiring) with all the additional Samsung modern smart features (see my post above) on-sale in many stores in a few days for about $250?? (Not 5.1 though, but a more modern feature set. A different bar and sub woofer.)
Seems to be a big clearing out of soundbars at the moment because of larger inventories now, high competition, perhaps less demand, and new versions on the horizon.
