My wife picked up a bunch of this stuff when we moved (each room had a different color.) She got it because it was cheap and they had a bunch of colors but I liked it enough that I sought it out when I needed to buy more. It's decent stuff. Much better then the Harbor Freight stuff.

I bought 4 when it was on sale. This isn't a good tape. It works well on very few surfaces and not on most. I stick it in the morning and by noon it slowly releases and falls apart. I could share the pictures of how bad it seperates from the surface. Also even accidentally if the sticky side bend and touches (like a U turn) it is difficult to seperate, so becareful when pulling larger lengths.

This tape is overkill (and too expensive) for taping boxes. Quality packing tape is effective and more cost efficient.

For boxes that need it, you want strapping tape. Its 1" wide and has those lines of fibers in it

Yes, if you want a box to stay together, strapping tape with mono filament is the way to go. Walmart used to sell Manco 3/4" for $1/roll, but those days are long gone since Manco was bought out.

Seeing as both of the options listed by the OP involve in-store pickup I cross referenced Amazon for the item's price. Although it's not visible until the lower area of the first search page, they are offering a 2-pack of this exact tape for $10.80 (NYS tax applied at about 8%) plus if you are a prime member you qualify for free shipping. IMO, at the rate I go through Duck Tape around the house combined with the fact I don't have to go pick it up makes the Amazon option my personal selection.
