Gorilla is a better tape than the OP, but T-Rex is up there with military grade.... that does cost more. You are getting what you pay for.

Yes, if you want a box to stay together, strapping tape with mono filament is the way to go. Walmart used to sell Manco 3/4" for $1/roll, but those days are long gone since Manco was bought out.
