I was browsing for annual plans on AT&T networks and came across this H2O wireless plan.

It includes unlimited talk & text and 1GB for data per month for $100 which is good enough for me as I'm on Wi-Fi most of the time.

https://www.h2owireless.com/12-month-plan

First time posting a deal. Enjoy!✌🏼

How does the 12 Month for $100 plan work?
When you select this plan, your credit or debit card will be charged $100. This one-time payment gives you an entire year of unlimited talk and text, as well as 1GB of high-speed data every month, unlimited at 128kbps thereafter. There are no other payments to make or additional steps to take.

When do I need to renew my account?
If, for example, you purchase this plan on June 17, 2022, you will need to renew on or before June 17, 2023. Should you decide not to renew this plan you can purchase a different plan or your account will be canceled and you will lose your phone number.

Because H2O is a AT&T MVNO there are a few things you need to know:

1. Is your device compatible with AT&T and or H2O? Check this link to see if your current device works on AT&T(Updated July 6th, 2022)

Link: https://www.att.com/idpassets/ima...etwork.pdf

Note*: H2O and AT&T can change a phones compatibility at anytime and the list in the PDF in the link above can be updated at anytime by AT&T directly. Xiaomi devices are now banned from AT&T(Did not meet AT&T Certification or Approval). Select Huawei/ZTE devices still allowed.

AT&T Network status:

5G+: When you see 5G+ on the top of your phone's screen it can mean your either connected to MmWave or newly launched C-Band. Average speeds seen on 5G+ are between: 70 Megs per second - 600 megs per second. *Speeds may vary on 5G+ due to number of devices on tower(Congestion), Plan Type, device limitations, etc.

5G: Also known as LTE+NR NSA, this tech is when a carrier pairs LTE and 5G Non Stand alone tech together to keep speeds high when MmWave is not available. 5G Standalone(SA) does not need LTE to work. (5G Phone/5G Sim required)

5Ge/4G LTE: What's the difference between 5Ge and 4G LTE? not much really other than 5Ge means your area may have been upgraded with newer tech/higher speeds on LTE via Carrier Aggregation(CA).

4G HSPA+: This network is being shutdown, will no longer be available starting August 1st, 2022. (Some markets have seen some shut down 4G HSPA+ wireless spectrum converted into 5G wireless spectrum)

3G HSDPA/HSUPA: This network is being shutdown, will no longer be available starting August 1st, 2022. (Most markets already have seen shut down 3G wireless spectrum converted to 5G wireless spectrum)

2G/GPRS/GSM: This network is shut down and no longer exists.

H2O used to be good but with a recent ban for some of the incompatible devices I think they messed their reputation up. My phone suddenly stopped working and they blamed ATT for that. Tried to port my number out but it didn't work. H2O customer service support never picked up the phone and never replied to the messages. Probably now, when that mess is over they are trying to bring customers back but knowing they didn't care about them in the past, I would think twice. I eventually lost my number since couldn't pay them for the service that didn't work.
Tbh, I think the $95/year boost mobile deal with 2 gb/month is a better deal. The one from Stacksocial. Was posted months ago and never seems to go away. They even have 6 months for $50.
pretty good, unlimited data @ 128kbps after high speed alottment

As long as you don't need customer service then it is a good deal, but as some people I have talked to recently reported that H2O customer service is as existent as Red Pocket mobile's CS.

The reason for CS being non-existent is some people believe that either H2O is going under or all the people with 3G phones are calling and emailing why their phones don't work anymore.

Closest comparison would be Red Pocket Prepaid for $99, but this only includes 1000 minutes a month and you don't get unlimited data after your 1 GB. https://www.ebay.com/itm/133051277200

Can anyone recommend a phone model under $100 used to pair with the h2o plan?

interesting part of the red pocket is that it supports esim

so if you have a dual sim capable phone, you can use the sim slot for other deals.

This happened everywhere with the 3G shutdown and voice over lte. I had redpocket (at&t sim) with a t-mobile Samsung (unlocked) phone and it worked perfectly fine until the 3G shutdown. When that happened, I could use data and text but I was unable to make/receive calls. I was near the end of my annual plan so I waited to get a redpocket (T-Mobile sim) and it works perfectly fine. MVNO don't have any control of at&t, t-mobile, etc.. They pretty much just sell you the minutes, data and text. I dont expect them to understand about the shutdown or know about my t-mobile phone. It is what it is with mvnos.

Outside of the 3G shutdown issue with redpocket, I have had very good customer service from redpocket (like 10 years) and tracfone. I know my t-mobile Samsung (unlocked) phone would not work with h2o wireless because my redpocket (at&t sim) failed.

This deal is way better than their usual pay as you go $100 annual plan with 5 cents per text and talk and the 10 cents per mb. For a senior citizen who doesn't use data and does little calls and texts, the $9 autopay (90 days) is pretty good especially as it does rollover. That is $36 for the year with at&t service with rollover. Redpocket has a good $30 annual plan but it would be t-mobile. I prefer redpocket as I have been with them many years but I also used h2o wireless and tracfone. I never really had any reception issues with either redpocket, h2o or tracfone. I am still using tracfone with my secondary phone and redpocket with my dailydriver. Tracfone (verizon) has their around $40 sale annual plan.
