Would never buy at that suggested retail/ full price. But still one of the best sounding Bluetooth speakers for $100 I have ever seen/heard. the v3 was a bit better but its still a great speaker.

Another fan boy here. This thing is great- for the price it's outstanding. I like the sound waayyy better than my Bose Revolve+.

That said, it's a lot more fragile, so I keep it around the house. The bose is the one I bring out when I know it's gonna get bumped over or there are kids around. Don't hesitate, snag one at this price.

I have 2 of these and they are incredible. One of them is "bluetoothed" to my Alexa for music and the other one I stream Apple Music outdoors. Just awesome and a great deal (I think).

Code arrived before chat was finished using your email address. They offered code once they found out I needed a battery for my old one. He offered to send me the code as an option if I didn't want to spend money on battery for old version. I did not have to ask for code

It's worth it to replace the battery. It runs on a three-wire 18650 that can be found on Amazon for $20 or less.

I have the Onyx 4 and Motion Boom "plus", so I'll answer from that perspective. Both sound very good for BT speakers, but I'd say it depends on which is more important to you: portability or looks. The Onyx looks good in any room, but it's not really too portable and as others have mentioned the battery life is short. The Motion Boom plus is designed to be portable (although it's not exactly small) with a handle and strap as well as water resistant. That said, I read that people said their Motion Boom plus sound was compromised after being in the direct sun.

The Onyx's sound quality can't compare to spending $50.00 at the local thrift store for an older receiver and a pair of bookshelf speakers but it does sound amazing for what it is.

I know these are a bit different but would you do this or a google home speaker for a kitchen/bedroom setup?

I got a google speaker for $65 a few days ago, I enjoy the aesthetics & that I can control lights/central air/etc with it, & sound is decent but it feels very limiting (plus annoying) with required subscriptions. I have a Vizio sound bar speaker for tv & the google hub for kitchen.
