    Ya I've purchased a lot of health devices during covid from no name Chinese brands via slickdeals and they're pretty inaccurate. I have no trust in their results.

    I posted this because I had bought one, when looking for a deal for the one I was going to buy. Screenshot here [vvcap.com]. I had looked at the time, and I think most of them were over $18, many over $30, so I figured why not post?

    Definitely depends on the device you are purchasing and for what purpose, but as for a BP machine, I think even if you have 2 healthcare professionals listening with a stethescope and a cuff, you are going to get 2 different results. With items like these, I personally think what the expectation should be is that it catches the difference between a high BP, and a normal one. Maybe I am wrong, but that is why I bought one yesterday. If it reads 190/110, then 188/108 on a retest seconds later....it could even be the position of the person between each test. I definitely dont like the results of my bathroom scale much of the time though laugh out loud

    I would agree with that, but also wanted to add... with something like this (for me), reliability/repeatability is going to be important.

    I'm currently looking for one of these because my doctor wants to look at my BP over time instead of just in the office (it's all over the place in the office).

    So he suggested I get a BP monitor, and take my BP as soon as I get up in the morning, and again in the evening.

    What I'd really love is one that connects to my phone or computer or something, and 'dumps' all of these values (and metadata, such as date and time) into a spreadsheet.

    But that might be a bit too much to ask, lol.

    But anyway... reliability. I don't really care all that much if the measurement is accurate or precise (the 'classic' battle is between accuracy and precision).

    For my purpose/s (and I freely admit that this may be different for other people), I mainly just care that it's reliable/repeatable.
