Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Did it just show up in your cart immediately after subscribing? I subscribed about 15 minutes ago, emptied my cart, started the trade-in/purchase over but it doesn't show the 10% credit anywhere.

How to get the 10% code? I subscribed to a month of Google One 2TB and don't see any code in my confirmation email so not sure how else to get it.

Edit:

Nevermind, I see it in my cart now. Does not provide a discount on this purchase but will provide credit for a future purchase. Better than nothing, I guess

Gotta wait for a T-Mo deal...preferably through Costco. I'm sure one will be here around Black Friday

Pixel 6 was just on sale for $499 and has a larger display, 90hz, more ram, wireless charging, and probably more. This doesn't seem worth it. If the fingerprint scanner is really that bad on the 6 then it seems like it would make more sense to hold out for the 7.
I just got mine during that sale (and for some reason Best Buy actually sold it to me for $449. I have no idea why... even the rep was confused, but said "that's what it rang up as so you get it.")

Anyway, the thing I came to say is: the fingerprint sensor is not that bad. I'm not sure what people are talking about with it being bad. You just have to follow the prompts to scan different angles of your finger, and then go back in and program a few other fingers, and it seems to work just fine. Now I do PREFER the old non-screen fingerprint reader on the back of my Pixel 3, but I think so far the screen one on the Pixel 6 has actually scanned more reliably, albeit a few miliseconds slower. I just liked the placement on back better.

Can Costco handle trade-in and good price for trade-in? Seems like most people think this deal is good deal are those trading in older Pixel phone.

It's so much easier to do returns and warranty work if it's tied to your main account though.

My suggestion is to wait. Google creates incredible hype just so they can fail by delivering a device that doesn't even come close to the promised performance. I fell for the 6 pro and it was the most horrible experience ever. The fingerprint reader, the front camera and many more issues.

The pixel 2 xl is the best phone they've ever had.

Yeah cost me $150 a year after trade in for a Pixel 5a to 6a. With the ear buds it's almost a no brainer.

Especially with the store credit 10% it's almost break even.

i will not buy another pixel phone, my pixel 6 screen cracked and that voided the warranty. w/e i was willing to pay out of pocket to get the screen replaced but nope, Google demanded the motherboard must also be replaced, which would cost $600 total, wtf Google? you love to screw your loyal customers eh? and honestly, what good is your cheaply made pixel phone when the unlimited photo cloud storage is now gone?

I had planned to order this, but then saw the reviews come out today, saying the finger print scanner is still bad. But after seeing this tread and that I can get $300 for my pixel 3a XL, I will go for it. That is more than I paid for the phone as a refurb a few years back.

Can anyone confirm the trade-in value for Galaxy S9? I am unable to access that page since I am currently out of the country
