Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

From the lack wireless charging, headphone jack, less than average 60hz refresh...I will gladly pass. Seems like the same decision samsung made with removing the headphone jack on the a53
the headphone jack removal was such a bummer on both these lines. Seems like I'll be stuck with moto forever.

Was planning to wait for the 7 but with a $300 trade-in for my old Pixel 3a, free Pixel Buds A-Series, and 5% via PayPal and Discover I went ahead and got a 6a to upgrade my 5a... and maybe trade-in the 5a for a 7 when it comes out (if it's worth it) and if trade-in values are good enough.

Checking out through PayPal gave me some fits though..... had to remove Google from my PayPal account and re-add it.... looks like that works... might also get 2% back from ra ku ten.

it's definitely not an error, all the graphics mention up to $300 too
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see any graphics saying "trade in your pixel 3a for $300." Just text saying "trade in your pixel or Samsung phone for up to $300" which is pretty different.

But if Google really does honor the $300 offer for a phone that cost $399 three years ago, then yeah it's a crazy deal

I haven't had issues with my trade-in with google store (traded iphone for credit towards pixel 3a) but there are a ton of horror stories where people would get high estimates but they would only receive a $1 credit or $0 and lose the phone. They won't return it. The people would sign up for take whatever the inspected value is. You should be ok with a Pixel 3a as it is factory unlocked but I see lot of other phones like my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G show a high estimated value but it says "all carriers" like it is factory unlocked. I wonder if "all carriers" means any carriers or as it must work with all carriers. My phone is a t-mobile Samsung Galaxy A71 5G (unlocked). Even though it is unlocked, it doesn't work with all carriers after the ATT 3G shutdown. I can only make and receive calls with t-mobile even though I got it unlocked. I don't want no funny shady business with "factory unlocked" vs "carrier unlocked" and then I get a $1 credit. It is tempting but maybe I will trade in my cheap iphone 6s that is unlocked and not my Samsung.

* I forgot the name of the company that Google deals with with trade-ins.
I was concerned about this as well (trading in a unlocked T-Mobile A71 5G), so I contacted Google Store support before placing my order. I asked: "I just want to know if the trade-in criteria of "Unlocked" is for all "network unlocked" phones or only for "factory unlocked" phones". My phone is unlocked but it is not a "Factory Unlocked" model. Will my phone get the full $300 estimated trade value?"

After the CSR researched for about 6 minutes, she replied: " I have checked with my resources and would like to inform you that there will be no discrepancy and you will get the full refund depending on the condition we received the device as we consider all the carriers as per our trade-in conditions".

I asked her to email me a transcript so I could have it on record. When I placed my order w/trade-in, I made sure to uncheck the "If my phone's condition is different than above, accept its new value" box (see attached screenshot).

The company Google uses is Assurant, who basically handles everyone's trade-ins (Best Buy, Xfinity, T-mobile, etc).

Why does anyone care about what MKBHD thinks. Hes a youtuber whos daily driver is an iphone who pushes dbrand advertising, and just because he reviews android phones frequently, people take his opinions as if he were the head of google. His thoughts and opinions are about as noteworthy as your average mcdonalds teen working the register. laugh out loud
Well, I've watched several review videos so far, and I've noticed that some reviewers rave about the battery, some say it sucks. Some say the fingerprint reader is faster than the 6/6 Pro, some say it's still slow. I do hear it's common that the phone runs hot, which concerns me since I live in Texas and this summer is hot as hell

Trade in value of $295 for a cracked Pixel 3a . Have not done google trade-in before, do they adjust the price later on ?
I've never done a trade in either, but if there's one thing I've learned here and on Reddit, anything you mail in can and likely will be adjusted down for various reasons, and you're SOL because they don't send things back. I don't have anything to trade, but I'd read all the fine print before you jump in.

I checked the Moto One 5g from Cricket, the trade-in value is $265.

Using "upto" is reasonable and justified, they would have to see your phone, inspect before making a decision.

Unless things have changed in the last 2 years, Google uses (or also uses) Hylamobile. I know because I have a horror story of my own and had to do some investigation.

Cracked screen pixel 3a xl worth $292.50. I assume a burn-in screen still counts as cracked/screen doesn't work?

If it's the same quality display as the Pixel 4a, then no thanks. Those are "OLED" in name only.
