Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Really on the fence. Using a Galaxy A71 5G and this seems like a side-grade if anything. Better camera and performance but worse battery life, no headphone jack, or microSD card? Not sure I want to pay $200-250 to exchange. Biggest upside would be future trade-in value for the phone after.

What's junk about them? I love mine...I alternate between those , Galaxy buds pro and airpods pro .
Lack of noise cancellation, and discomfort when used for long time compared to other type you just outlined.
Btw, you would expect noise cancellation as a min thing when they are quoting $99 for their A series buds.

Top/#1 priority for me is camera/photo quality. My Pixel 3a has been flawless but photos seem hit or miss. If the 6a camera is the same or only slightly better then I'll pass...I use T-Mo anyway so there's that
The 6a seems to add an additional wide angle camera vs the 3a. You can use the unlocked on T-Mobile if you need

Is it worth trading in my old Samsung S20 for $300?

Damn! Y'all trading in your Galaxy A71 5G! I got on that deal too. That phone is great! Not sure if I'd want to trade that in. The pixel 6a seems to be the same phone. I think I got it for a similar price too $200ish with trade in of an iPhone 7. I think I got my pixel 3a for 200ish on a trade in deal of a iPhone 5 lol! Crazy, where do all our old phones go. Landfill!

Have you actually used them? I love mine and use them all the time now instead of my old Jabra elite 65t.
I loved you being very polite. Thank you
I have received these as FREE with my pixel 6 pro. A few days after the usage, noticed that the base doesnt charge at all. Google replaced them in 2 weeks time after so much of trouble shooting.
When they quote $99 as its value, they should provide a min feature of noise cancellation. Do you have it on them? I couldnt use them in my last flight journey, engines sound didnt let me hear to the audio well.
Also, the discomfort i get when used continuously for over 20 min... I have other brands, which are much better and have no complaints.

That really depends on what you value and your alternatives.

The Google photos backup is only for storage saver qaulity, so it's not a true backup of the original photos.

If you have Amazon prime, you get original quality backups for all photos included with your prime membership (but not videos).

You could also do a unlimited full computer backup with backblaze for $70/year.

But if you like having picture in Google photos, for using with nest home hub devices, it's definitely a nice benefit, but you'll eventually lose it whenever your current device kicks the bucket.
Thanks. I like Google photos. As good as this deal is, it kinda defeats the purpose if I have to pay $240/year when I get it for free right now on my current phone.

so i could buy a 3a off swappa for like $85ish and trade it in for $300, not a bad deal, esp with the free headphones.
They went for like 50 until today lol

Does the 6A have to be registered or activated or can I sell it right away? Can I trade in my 3A XL, get the 6A and earbuds then sell them? I'm currently using a 4a 5g but haven't sold my 3A XL yet.

Still no wireless charging… whyyyyyyyyy
Real answer? It costs material money and significant (enough) engineering and manuf money.

Wireless charging is a premium feature trying to make charging less a pain. With 18W, they believe that a short charge is more than enough for the average Joe (and I agree, though want at least 35W)
