Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

I'd crack it just in case the trade-in reps denies your phone since it wasn't as described.
Well it's both cracked and burn-in so I guess I'm good lol

Really on the fence. Using a Galaxy A71 5G and this seems like a side-grade if anything. Better camera and performance but worse battery life, no headphone jack, or microSD card? Not sure I want to pay $200-250 to exchange. Biggest upside would be future trade-in value for the phone after.
Me too...I also have t-mobile Samsung a71 5g .. and it says 300$ trade in value..but bit hassitent with all issues of pixel 6 that might get inherited with 6a.. apart from better camera n chip . It's difficult to come down from 6.7 screen ,face recognition, 25w fast charger n not bad cameras of A71 5g.. still thinking

As a reminder, don't order with your main google account if you are ordering through google. In instances where you have issues and need to do a chargeback, they might lock your account

Same with me.Got a s10 lite,6,7 screen,45w fast charging. But I might pull the trigger,I can always trade the 6a for something better next year since I should i get better trade in value, doubt it that ill get $300 for my s10 lite anymore

Lack of noise cancellation, and discomfort when used for long time compared to other type you just outlined.
Btw, you would expect noise cancellation as a min thing when they are quoting $99 for their A series buds.
Well I disagree about comfort they are much more comfortable than the galaxy buds pro especially for video calls can't lie the airpods pro are the most comfortable though . Noise cancellation I agree at 100 bucks they should have it along with wireless charging. I got mine free so I don't take price into consideration but they definitely left something's to be desired. The pixel buds pro better be amazing for 200 bucks as well

If they're giving these values for the Pixel 7 then it's a done deal.

Crazy to read people are trading in Samsung a71 for this gimp

Agreed that you will get probably the best trade in value for your s10 lite..but what if you new pixel 6a have issues n it's a downgrade thrn what you have been used to...it will be pain if this 6a would be your primary day to day phone.. I think I will trade in for something I feel would be next generation of Samsung or may be pixel 7 because I would know that this new phone would n issue free to the best of my knowledge n won't be atleast a downgrade

Thanks OP. Had two cracked screen pixel 3a's sitting around, so this was a great deal. I really wish the 6a still had headphone jack, but I'll deal.

Just as a cautionary tale...I did the trade in with Google last year when they were offering an enticing amount for the Pixel 2. Everything seemed ok...I transferred my service to my new pixel and mailed in my old pixel 2. They offered me 240 when I initiated the trade in but only gave me 37 when they received it saying the screen was cracked...I literally was using the phone daily right up until it went in the trade in box. I complained and appealed and then they said oops it's not cracked but we can't get it to turn on and thats the final verdict (too bad so sad). They didn't care that it was in use on my account even up to the day it shipped to them. I have been on pixels since the Nexus days but this is probably my last one because of that experience.
charge back to cc?

That's not how it works
It's exactly how it works. Cell phones are the most genius invention for keeping tabs on humans. They keep adding features like finger print or face scan to deceive the world it's more secure. When it reality its to gather your data and humans comply without care.

All big tech cell companies save and store all your information from finger prints, facial recognition, bank info, pics, contacts, ALL OF IT and share it with the 3 letter agencies. Heck, even your phone cameras are taking pics without you knowing. If you dont think this is happening, you're living in a fantasy world.

Waiting for free from t-mobile.
I haven't seen any free phones, aside for the generic ones, from T-Mobile. What makes you think this will be free from them?

Will they return Tax on the $300 trade-in credit?

In Texas, it says it would be $486 after tax but wondering if I get $300 back or $300 + Sales Tax credit back?
