Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Excuse me for being dense, but what form of credit is the Trade-In credit? If I pay for the full balance using Paypal will I get a credit back to Paypal or a gift card or something? If it is only a credit back to the Google store for a future purchase I would be disappointed.
You submit the trade in after you receive the new phone. Then, assuming they evaluate your trade in as shown online, they issue you a credit back to your payment method.

Pixel 6 owner here, coming from Pixel 3 XL with the fingerprint sensor on the back, the front screen sensor took some used to and yes it doesn't perform as well, but it's NOT THAT BAD. After the initial adjustment (mainly from using the index finger to now using the thumb), I have no issues with it. It doesn't even cross my mind when I use the phone. That's my experience at least, take it for what's it's worth.
For me p6pro is the best fp scanner I have ever had it never fails for months

almost feel like downgrading from the 6 to 6A. cant stand the sensor. works okay indoors but when im outdoors its like 5% working.
What I've noticed works better is use the other hand to cover the screen from the sun. The reflections from the sunlight in the display glass is what is causing the bad readings.

Nice! That's a no brainer with cracked screen.

My quote for trading in undamaged Pixel 3A was the full $300.
Pixel 3 good condition is 80$. Smh

Free Pixel 3a from the T-Mobile promotion still runs ok surprisingly.

Thinking to keep it a bit longer for unlimited photo back up alone

Total price for me comes to $482.68, and $300 for the trade-in value. Tempted to upgrade my 3a at this price.
This would be my first google pre-order and trade in, anybody been through the process and can share their experience? I haven't purchased the latest phone since...ever actually lol.
I'd go for it.

I am in the same boat. Pixel 4a 5G heats like crazy. Seems like a total price of $50 (after 100$ Buds for free) makes a lot of sense. The website asks to add the buds a series for 0$ on the page after you add the phone to your cart.
My 4A 5G overheats all the time, especially outdoors or when I'm recording video. It shuts off cellular data which is really annoying. I'm trying to decide whether it's worth upgrading. I don't need the earbuds and would miss the unlimited photo storage. Same camera is a bit disappointing too tho expected. I think I'm gonna wait another year and hope for close to $300 credit then hopefully the 7A will have the better camera

I have a pixel 6 pro and it's absolutely terrible. The radio is so much worse than literally any phone I have ever used. Constantly loses connection and doesn't try to reconnect for long periods of time, if at all. Toggle airplane mode and it magically works fine right away, but you won't know until an hour later when you've missed calls and texts. If you are always in an area with excellent signal, including indoors, I'd stay away from this pixel generation. Can't wait to get rid of this thing.

Read the Google trade-in terms. It is still hyla.

https://store.google.com/intl/en-...de-in.html

The Initial Trade-In Quote is an estimate only, and that the Trade-In Credit You receive, if any, will be based only on the Final Trade-In Quote determined by Hyla. For example, if after inspection, Your Device is not in the condition You represented on the Website, or Your Device is not one of the Devices accepted by the Trade-In Program, the Final Trade-In Quote may be minimal or zero.

Once shipped to Hyla, Your Device will not be returned to You, unless:
You agreed that if Your Device is not cleared or wiped of personal data, Hyla may return the Device without removing the data, in compliance with the Responsible Recycling ("R2") Standard for Electronics Recyclers.
Hyla will return Your Device to the postal Address You provided during the online transaction, but Hyla and Google will have no liability to You if Your Device is lost or damaged during the return shipment.

Unfortunately I am a current google fi customer and they don't give the great deals to existing customers. $499 for the s22 as existing customer. I also don't like the expensive monthly plan and 90-120 days requirements if I sign up as new. I really enjoy my Samsung A71 5G. The big screen is a big pro and it has great battery life.

6.1" screen with the samsung galaxy s22 or pixel 6a is a big con for me. Once you start using phones with 6.5" screen or more, it is tough to go down especially if battery life suffers with smaller battery. I'm still tempted by this deal. I did enjoy my old pixel. Great user interface and the best cameras.
i thought the same but after seeing s22 its worth to upgrade from A71 as A71 5g screen doesnt support full screen videos like it does for youtube or netflix and only align itself in the middle of the screen with black borders around if you watch any web videos on fullscreen

Just buy the unlocked or buy it straight from TMo.

If you're an existing customer and not adding a line that makes no sense given that T-Mobile won't give you anything close to $300 in trade-in for a 3a.

I would definitely be getting this deal. It's been 3 years since I got the Pixel 3a for about $180 during the similar deal to this one with the iPhone SE. It really paid off

Don't think 4A will command 300$ credit next year.. that's what I am considering when trading in.
